What makes a personal dashboard useful.

A dashboard earns its place when it answers a real question faster than opening three separate apps.

The useful version is usually smaller than the first draft. Dates, reminders, short status checks, and a few links are enough for most personal workflows.

The trap is adding panels because they look good. After a few weeks, those panels become noise and make the page harder to scan.

My rule of thumb

If I do not use a section for two weeks, it either needs to be simplified or removed. The page should support a routine, not become another place to maintain.
